Nearly every great business starts with an entrepreneur and a vision; well, By The Blade is no different. Our beginnings go back to the days when our owner, Patrick Vogt, provided summer lawn care work just by himself and his trusty lawnmower. Patrick knew he was on to something special, as his lawncare hobby was quickly growing into a legitimate business venture.

The Early Years

After graduating from Park Hill High School in 1998, Patrick, Parkville, began building the foundation for a highly successful lawn and landscape company. Over the years, Patrick’s hard work, dedication, and commitment to quality service became a way of life. Based on those principles, Patrick developed one of the most respected lawn and landscape companies in Parkville and throughout the Kansas City Metro area.

Building the Foundation of a Great Company

In 2009, Patrick Vogt made the decision to purchase Rainbow Irrigation, which helped solidify By The Blade as a complete lawn and landscaping service. Since our early beginnings, we have partnered with the best vendors in the lawn care industry to ensure that we only use the highest quality products for our valued customers.

Our lawn and landscape business has evolved over time, and we now help design and create the ultimate outdoor living areas for our customers. In fact, from 2012-2016, By The Blade was selected as the Kansas City Symphony Showhouse outdoor landscape design providers.

Family Life

When Patrick is not helping his amazing customers with the lawn, landscape, and outdoor living space needs, he is likely spending time with his family in Parkville. Patrick is married to Lindsay, who is a civil engineer, and together they have four wonderful children.

Still, more than twenty years later, By The Blade is serving the lawn, landscaping, and outdoor living needs of countless customers throughout our region. Our company has strong roots in Parkville, MO, but has done numerous outdoor projects throughout Kansas City and its surrounding communities.
